1933 Ford Pickup ExteriorWith body courtesy of the boys in Louisiana at No More Rust, we seea swept back Alumicraft thin bar chrome grille in a black corral.With chrome bullet bezel 1939 Chevrolet headlights flank the grilleand are mounted to stalks growing from the frame and a steel hoodand hood cowlings, also from No More Rust, a little chop for thetop, and it was enough to make me stop...and gaze into the futurehot rod show trophy land. Fiberglass doors are on, and the cab hasbeen stretched 4" in this area making entrance and exit a breeze.This stretch works in conjunction with the firewall being moved 4"forward to give a much appreciated 8" of extra legroom for theoccupants. Peeking out from below the grafted on drilled visor is aNewport Engineering direct fit wiper kit. Bringing up the rear isan all-steel bed with an unfinished floor giving us a view of allthe rear suspension workings. Just below the tailgate are a pair of1951 Nash taillights that look perfectly at home, especially withdual exhaust tips peeking out below. Wheelsmith red powder coatedsteel wheels adorn all 4 corners and are wrapped in like new Cokerbias look wide whitewall radials. We note that while the doors havehad their glass installed the front and rear windows are notincluded and a trip to your local glass shop will be in order.InteriorA pop of the lightweight door, and we see nothing but cool customaluminum bead rolled door panels in their natural finish, simplebut effective in their statement and held within are power windows.Wise Guys custom low back bucket seats in Ultraleather have beenadded and present with red tuck and roll centers and smooth blackbolsters. The drivers seat is already mounted, and the passengersseat is included with the purchase. Moving forward, a 1951 Ford F1dash has been carefully installed along with a custom lowerextension and houses dual round Classic Industries gauge pods tomonitor all engine vitals. An Ididit steering column has beenbolted in with a smaller diameter 1940 Ford steering wheel toppingit off. Moving across the dash we see the cutout for the radiowhich is bare but the purchase includes a 1953 Ford radio that hasbeen redone and is now AM/FM/Bluetooth capable. In front of thepassenger is a small glove box which holds the controls for theVintage Air heat and AC system. All the hoses for this system havebeen cut to length and are ready to install. More bead rolledaluminum wraps around the rear of the cab and for the flooring wenote plain steel and an aluminum driveshaft tunnel with a shorthandled shifter well within the drivers reach. A Hagen clutch andbrake pedal assembly hangs from under the dash and is connected toHagen clutch and brake master cylinders.DrivetrainTilting the all steel hood to the side we are met with Ford powerin the form of a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder from a 1986 SVO Mustang. Thismill is both turbocharged and intercooled and is fed by a HolleyTerminator fuel injection controller and harness. Bolted to theback is a Tremec T5 5-speed manual transmission with a Quicktimeblowproof bellhousing, a Ram clutch, and a hydraulic throwoutbearing. Bringing up the tail end is a Ford 9" axle weighing inwith a 3.50 ratio. Also included is another Ford 9" center sectionwith a 3.50 TracLoc unit installed. A Wizard Cooling performancealuminum radiator has been added along their cooling fan and fanshroud to handle heat removal.UndercarriageA strong steel frame from Shadow Rods in Saginaw, MI has beenstretched 4" provides the backbone for this one of a kind build. Achrome transverse leaf spring front suspension is on with a 4" dropLucky 7 drilled and chromed front axle and for the rear we note aShadow Rods split bone rear suspension with adjustable coilovers.All working together to provide a nice lowered stance. SSBCpolished aluminum front disc brakes have been installed andcompliment the rear discs, courtesy of a Ford Explorer. A like newsingle exhaust system feeds into a glasspack style muffler as itsnakes its way rearward then splits off into dual outlets andfinishes with straight cut tips. All is just as well thought outand executed as the top side!Drive-AbilityWhile not running at the present time due to needing to be wiredup, our consignor states that the engine does run well and thesound of the turbo spooling up will be music to your ears.Its not often that a gift such as this 33 Ford comes along inproject form. Unlike most, this truck is well thought out, planned,and uses the best of the best when it comes to components. Thereceipt list reads akin to a whos who catalog of street roddingand a dare to be different turbo 4 cylinder powerplant will makeyou stand out from the crowd. A little elbow grease and a vision ofgreatness in your own design is all thats left to finish thistruck and make it your new prize winner making all the V8 guysjealous.
